Contact FreePDFTools
Bug reports, corrections and privacy questions are all welcome. This page explains what can be handled here, what cannot, and which details make a report quick to answer.
There is no form on this page, and nothing here asks for your name, your email address or a document. Contact is by email only: there is no phone line, live chat or postal address.
What can be reported
- A tool that fails on a specific file, or stops part way through with an error message.
- A wrong result: pages missing from a merge, a rotation applied in the wrong direction, images in the wrong order, or a download that arrives damaged.
- A factual error or a misleading instruction on any page, including numbers that do not match what the tool actually does.
- A privacy or data-handling question about how the site works.
- A broken link, a layout problem in a particular browser or at a particular screen width, or an accessibility barrier such as a control that cannot be reached with a keyboard.
- Anything unclear in the about page, privacy policy or terms of use.
What cannot be done here
- A file cannot be recovered. Nothing is stored on this site, so there is no copy to restore; if a tab was closed before the download finished, the work has to be done again.
- A document cannot be processed on your behalf. Merging, splitting, rotating or converting only happens in your own browser, so no one here can open, convert or repair a PDF for you.
- File attachments cannot be accepted or inspected. Sending a document by email does not get it converted, so please do not send confidential documents.
- Passwords cannot be removed, guessed or bypassed, and no help can be given with getting past the protection on a document.
- No advice can be given about the contents of a document, or about legal, tax and professional questions of any kind.
- There is no guaranteed response time, no telephone support and no out-of-hours service.
What to include in a report
A report that contains the following is usually enough to find and fix a fault without the document itself:
- The address of the page you were using.
- Your browser and its version, for example Chrome 126 or Safari 17, and your operating system.
- The file type, its approximate size and its page count — not the file.
- The exact wording of any error message shown on the page.
- The steps you took, and whether the problem happens every time or only occasionally.
- For an accessibility problem: the assistive technology or input method you were using.
Reports about a tool that used to work and has stopped are especially useful, because they usually point to a change in a browser rather than a fault in the file.
What to expect from a reply
Messages are read and answered by one person, alongside the work of building and checking the tools. That keeps the project small and honest, but it also means there is no ticket system, no escalation path and no promise of a reply within a fixed number of hours.
Most reports that can be reproduced are answered within a few business days. Faults that affect everyone using a tool are prioritised; a question about a single document may only be answerable in general terms, because the file itself is not available to anyone here. Short, specific messages are answered fastest.
Privacy questions are treated the same way. There is no account data and no stored document to delete, so a request to erase personal data usually has nothing to act on beyond the ordinary access logs kept by the web host. The privacy policy explains what the server records, what the tools do in your browser, and how advertising would be handled if it is ever enabled.
Frequently asked questions
Can you convert, merge or repair a PDF for me?
No. There is no processing service behind this site. The tools run inside your own browser, so the only way a document can be processed here is by you opening the relevant tool and choosing the file yourself.
Should I attach the file that caused the problem?
Please do not. Nothing on this site stores documents, so an attachment cannot be checked against the tool and would only place your file in a mailbox. A description of the file type, size, page count and the exact error text is far more useful.
Why can you not reproduce my exact problem?
Because the document never leaves your device. Bug reports are worked on from the description alone: the page used, the browser and operating system, and what the tool did. That is usually enough to find a fault in the logic, even without the file.
How quickly will I get a reply?
Messages are read by one person, so there is no support desk and no guaranteed response time. Reports that include enough detail to reproduce the problem are normally answered within a few business days; quieter periods can take longer.
Is there a phone number or mailing address?
No. This is an online-only project without an office, a phone line or a published postal address, and inventing one would be misleading. Email is the only contact channel.
Where do I report a privacy or security concern?
Use the same contact address and start the subject line with "Privacy" or "Security" so it is easy to spot. Please describe what you observed and on which page; do not send confidential documents with the report.
