Merge PDF Files Online

Combine two or more PDF files into a single document. Set the order, remove anything you do not need, and download the merged file. Everything happens in your browser.

Your files are processed locally in your browser tab. They are not uploaded to this server and they are not sent to any third party.

How to merge PDF files

  1. Add two or more PDF files with the selector above, or drop them onto the box.
  2. Check the list and put the files in the order you want their pages to appear.
  3. Remove any file you no longer need with the cross button.
  4. Press "Merge PDF files" and wait for the progress bar to finish.
  5. Download merged.pdf and save it wherever you keep your documents.

What you can expect

  • Pages keep their original text, images and resolution; nothing is re-rendered.
  • Bookmarks, form fields and annotations inside the source files are not carried over, because only page content is copied.
  • Encrypted or password-protected files are refused rather than partially processed.
  • Very large batches depend on your device memory. If a merge fails with a memory error, merge fewer files at a time and combine the results afterwards.
  • The merged document is written with compressed object streams, and the file keeps no record of your original file names.

What this tool does not do

  • It does not create bookmarks, a table of contents or page numbers for the merged file.
  • It does not remove or bypass PDF passwords.
  • It does not re-compress or downscale the pages, so the merged file is roughly the sum of its parts.
  • It does not upload, store or email your documents: the result is produced on your device only.

Frequently asked questions

In what order are the PDF files merged?

Exactly the order shown in the list. Use the arrow buttons, drag a row, or press Alt with the up and down arrow keys to move the focused row. The first file becomes the first pages of the result.

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. The files are read and combined by JavaScript inside your browser tab. They are never sent to this website. You can confirm this with your browser developer tools: there is no network request that carries the file data.

Is there a limit on how many files I can merge?

Up to 50 files per job, one file may be up to 100 MB, and the whole job should stay under 250 MB. The real limit is the memory of your device, so a very large batch may still be slow.

Why was my file rejected?

The first bytes of each file are checked for the PDF signature, not just the file name. A document that was renamed to .pdf, a PDF that is still downloading, or a corrupted file will be refused with an explanation instead of silently producing a broken result.

What happens to a password-protected PDF?

It cannot be merged. This tool does not attempt to remove or guess PDF passwords. Open the file in a PDF reader, enter the password and save a copy without protection, then merge that copy.

Does merging reduce the quality of my pages?

No. The original page content is copied into the new document rather than re-rendered, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution.
