Rotate PDF Pages
Fix a sideways scan or an upside-down page. Turn every page or just the ones you select, and mirror a page left to right or top to bottom when a scan came out reversed. The preview shows each change as you make it.
Your files are processed locally in your browser tab. They are not uploaded to this server and they are not sent to any third party.

Turn and mirror the pages
Every button updates the preview straight away. Apply as many as you need; they add up.
Rotation: 0° Mirror: not mirrored
Use one of the buttons above first: with no rotation and no mirror there would be nothing to save.
Your rotated PDF is ready
How to rotate a PDF
- Add the PDF file you want to straighten.
- Look at the page count and the preview, which shows the angle stored in the file.
- Press "Turn left 90" or "Turn right 90" as many times as you need; the preview updates every time.
- Use the mirror buttons if the page needs flipping rather than turning.
- Choose whether to change every page or only a range such as 2-4.
- Press "Rotate and save" and download the new PDF.
Why the rotation stays correct
Every PDF page may carry a /Rotate entry that tells readers how the page should
be turned for display. Scanners and phone scanning apps use it constantly, which is why pages
in one document often differ. This tool reads the stored value, adds your chosen angle and
writes the sum back, normalised into the range 0–359. That is why choosing 90 degrees on
a page already at 90 degrees gives 180 degrees instead of undoing the rotation, and why the
page content itself is never rewritten or recompressed.
What this tool does not do
- It does not crop, straighten a skewed scan, or deskew pages.
- It does not turn pages by arbitrary angles: turns are in 90 degree steps, plus mirroring.
- It does not rotate individual embedded images, only whole pages.
- It does not process encrypted PDFs, and it does not remove passwords.
- It does not add annotations or comments about the change it made.
Frequently asked questions
Does rotating a page reduce its quality?
No. A PDF page stores its viewing rotation as a number in the page dictionary. Changing that number tells every PDF reader to display the page at a new angle, so the text and images inside the page are not re-rendered and nothing is lost.
What happens if the page is already rotated?
The new angle is added to the one already stored. A page currently at 90 degrees that you rotate by 90 degrees becomes 180 degrees, not 0. This avoids the common bug where a page flips back to its original orientation.
Can I rotate only some pages?
Yes. Choose "Selected pages only" and enter a range such as 1, 4-6. Pages you do not list keep the rotation they already had.
How do I turn a page 270 degrees?
Select 270 degrees clockwise, or select 90 degrees counter-clockwise. The two give the same final orientation.
Can I fix a mixed scan where some pages are sideways?
Yes, but in more than one pass: rotate the affected pages first, download the result, then add that file again and rotate a different set. Each pass keeps the changes made in the previous one.
What is the difference between turning a page and mirroring it?
Turning rotates the page by a quarter turn: the content stays the right way up but moves round. Mirroring flips the page as if you held it up to a mirror, which is what you need when a scan or a photo came out back to front. A mirrored page cannot be described by a rotation, so the tool rewrites the page content with a mirror transformation. Text stays selectable either way.
Can I combine turning and mirroring?
Yes, and the buttons add up. Two presses of "Turn right 90" plus "Mirror left to right" gives 180 degrees and a horizontal mirror. Press Reset to start again. The preview updates on every press, so you can see the result before you save.
Is the original file changed?
Never. The file you select is only read. The rotated document is a new file that is downloaded to your device, so your original stays exactly as it was.
